Technical Training Groups

YTS Parents,

You will see the list of technical groups below. We have selected players based on their technique. Technique includes - ability to receive a ball under control, the quality and consistency of the first touch, direction and weight of first touch, ability to pass the ball with the appropriate weight and direction and finally the ability to change direction with the ball. At the highest level players can perform all the avoid techniques under pressure. This is our goal.

Based on the fact we evaluated players on individual technique not all of our top groups have an equal number of players from each team. This is not a team based evaluation but rather an individual based one.

We will continue to evaluate all of the players in our YTS Program with regards to technique. Please rememeber we are trying to develop technically proficient players in our program and to do so the players must spend time with the ball away from our YTS training sessions. The technical groups will add another dimension to our training program.

Thanks

Paul

Meeting Summary

TRAINING:

1) Attendance for the most part has been good. Please do all you to make sure your son/daughter attends all training sessions. If you are running late have your son/daughter jog over to his/her training group.

2) GOAL: Our goal is to create good training habits and instill a stong work ethic into our players along with developing individual technique.

3) To become more competitive players......

The coaching staff really don't care about the scores of our games.... if we win or lose....Yes, we will win games but part of good development is also to lose.... to win all the time is NOT realistic and what will happen thru out your child's soccer career. We are trying to create good habits/technical ability now so the players can experience success as they get older.

You will see at practices games/activities that encourage your children to be competitive. The coaching staff is working hard to teach the kids to come out and compete. Some kids have it in them to just come on out and fight while others are not that way....As parents, we need to be PATIENT and always POSITIVE....this will help our children move along at his or her own pace....without frustration.

4) The coaching staff has spent the last several training sessions evaluating our children...They have ranked each player by Technical Ability. This week the first for the first training session of the week the U9's and U10's will be grouped by technical ability. The second session of each week the kids will train with their respective teams.

5) FALL TRAINING SESSIONS WILL END THE WEEK OF NOVEMBER 9TH
There will be and End of Season YTS Night @ Monkey Joe's (DATES/ DETAILS ARE STILL TBD..)

7) INDOOR TRAINING SESSIONS WILL PICK UP IN DEC.... (Paul estimated that the cost to do indoor training session will be around $10 per player....he will confirm this soon.... Please note that this is on top of our regular training fees....)

a) Indoor dates have been set and the practices will be @ NETSPORTS in Morrisville
I could be wrong but I have the dates listed as: (Paul will confirm all dates on the Blog next week)
U9's Dec. 8th & 15th Jan 12th, 19th & 26th
U10's Dec. 9th & 16th Jan. 13th, 20th & 27th

b) We will try and do some training outdoors also. This schedule will be finalized nearer the time

TOURNAMENTS:

CASL SHOOTOUT: (this will be finalized shortly)
There has never been a U10 Division in this tournament but this year, there will be one. The tournament dates are Nov. 6th & 7th for the girls and Nov 13th & 14th for the boys... Not everyone can play in this tournament but Paul will do his best to take as many as he can. The plan right now is to take the following:
2 ----U10 girls teams 1-----U9 girls team
3-----U10 boys teams 2-----U9 boys teams

**Please note that Paul will be putting these rosters together..... Nobody is guaranteed to be selected.....There could be an combination of girls including some U9's on the U10 teams....**

SPRING:

ADIDAS FESTIVAL:

Greenville May 7th & 8th.... All teams will be entered...Write these dates on your calendar now.... Details will follow later..

Thanks guys!

Happy Monday

YTS Parents,

I hope you all enjoyed watching the games this weekend. I was able to watch several games at WRAL and thoroughly enjoyed watching our teams play. It was great to see the kids playing, competing and having fun. This week I plan on having two parent meetings:

U10 Parent Meeting Tuesday 4.45pm- Building beside the stadium.

U9 Parent Meeting Friday 4.45pm- Building beside the stadium.

At this meeting I will talk about training, game schedules, tournament plan, winter training plan and answer any questions you guys might have.

Thanks very much.

Finally It's Here....

Before the opening weekend I wanted to address a few things about the games and our philosophy on competition and games at the YTS level. The first and main point is that RESULTS DO NOT MATTER at this level. Our job at YTS is to introduce competitive soccer to these players, our job at YTS is NOT to win games, in all honesty, we do not care about the results. We do recognize that winning is part of a positive experience for the kids, but ultimately we want our kids to improve and enjoy the experience. As a parent you are very important to this. Your demeanor on the sideline has a huge impact on your kids and the game itself. We ask that you encourage and cheer for your kids in a POSITIVE way, that is all. Please do not yell at your kids in frustration or try to coach your kid from the sideline. Only the coach is to give instructions about the game, your job is to encourage. Please enjoy watching your child play and his/her team play.

Also, be aware that this might not be the philosophy of other clubs and results MAY matter to other parents, coaches, players and teams. If this is the case, do not get involved in any disagreements with other parents. CASL is the largest club in the country and certainly the largest club in our area, all eyes are on us so we need to act accordingly. Our goal is to set a positive example always!

Just as YTS is an early stage of soccer for these kids, it is also an early stage of refereeing for our officials. They will make mistakes. Do not complain or yell at the referee. Not only is this something we do out of respect to the referees, but it also has a huge impact on your child. If you yell at the referee he/she will think it is ok to yell at the referee. There should be no reason at all to communicate with the officials at anytime.

Hopefully you have recognized that we are trying to create an environment where these children are not just on teams but are a part of a great YTS program. I encourage any family who has a little spare time on Sunday to come out and support the other teams that are playing.
